The sacred Dzi (pronounced "zee") bead in Asian cultures, including Tibet, is considered a bead with positive spiritual benefits, a protective amulet, and ground into powder is used in Tibetan medicine. Rudraksha is the name for the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, which are used for prayer beads in Hinduism and Buddhism.
