The January full moon is called the wolf moon and sometimes the post-Christmas moon. It occurs at 23:26 Central European Time. This full moon follows the winter solstice – the 8th holiday of the Yule cycle of the Wheel of the Year and is accompanied by winter and snow. The name comes from the tradition of North American indigenous tribes, who named the months after natural phenomena or animals. Winter is associated with the image of snow and the howling of wolves, who approached human dwellings in an attempt to obtain food.

The winter days of January are suitable for taking stock, planning new activities, and a time to reflect on the beginning of the new year, plans, and goals. They are associated with peace and meditation.
