Dorje made of crystal - decoration

Dorje - crystal vajra. Illustrative depiction of natural stone.

Vajra is a Sanskrit word. It is especially important in Buddhism and Hinduism.

In Buddhism, it is considered a symbol of indestructible strength and firmness, representing immortality and truth, which is as firm and stable as a diamond. It is a ritual object and a ritual tool. It is often used together with the bell (ghanta), which symbolizes the feminine principle, while the vajra represents the masculine principle. In Buddhist iconography, deities holding a vajra are often depicted, e.g. Bodhisattva Vajrapani, who is the protector of the dharma. Dharma symbolizes the Buddha's teachings and their spread.

In Hinduism, the vajra is the embodiment of the Vedic god Indra, the god of thunder, storms and all gods. Vadržra has the ability to destroy everything that comes in its way, it symbolizes power over natural forces.

Vajra symbolizes invincible spiritual power and enlightenment. It is considered a tool that can cut through illusion and ignorance, just as a diamond can cut through any material. It represents the unity of opposites, such as the material and spiritual worlds, or the male and female principles.

Vajra exist as single, having one or more points at both ends, and as double (vishvavajra), which consists of two vajras. Two connected vajras form a cross symbolizing the stability and balance of all directions.

Symbolically, the Dorje represents a "flash of enlightenment," a sudden change in human consciousness recognized by many religions as central to the realm of mysticism and the lives of saints. Through enlightenment, we can detach ourselves from material possessions such as money, food, and even life itself. Happiness then comes not from outside, but from within ourselves. In Tibetan Buddhism, the dorje is an inseparable ritual part of religious ceremonies.

For centuries, the crystal has been considered by people as a very effective and universal crystal, which, as a talisman, is said to strongly amplify energy, absorb, release and regulate it and bring it into absolute harmony. In folk traditions, the crystal encourages the psyche, clairvoyance and independence. Self-improvement is said to help. As a talisman, the crystal protects against all evil and negativity. It increases our spiritual powers. It harmonizes, cleans and protects the aura, ensures peaceful sleep. Suitable for meditation and magical purposes.
