Ammonite and orthoceras plate 6

Ammonite is an extinct predatory cephalopod that lived in the seas about 425 to 65.5 million years ago and reached a size of several centimeters to tens of centimeters. The oldest ammonites date from the Lower Devonian period; they became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous. They were characterized by spirally wrapped shells made of calcium carbonate, which were preserved fossilized in marine sediments.

Orthoceras is a species of extinct cephalopod that lived 350-400 million years ago in shallow seas in the territory of present-day Morocco in the Erfoud locality. Živočich lived in an elongated, conically shaped box.
