Symbolism of the Buddha healer: The Buddha brings knowledge to people and is a symbol of health. It is usually depicted with blue skin, the right hand is outstretched, resting on the knee, with the fingers pointing up, the palm facing forward. In his left hand, the Buddha holds a bowl of herbs. Tibetans believe that the Buddha brings people knowledge of medicine, and in fact the right hand that points outwards means "granting blessings" to humanity.
The Buddha is worshiped by health seekers and is more common in Buddhist temples and communities in Nepal and Tibet.
The Buddha (in Sanskrit: Bhaisajyagura) is a protective aspect of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni. Its visualization is a blue skin color, like lapis lazuli. In his right hand he usually holds a branch of plum myrobalan (also known as pins), in his left hand he holds a bowl filled with nectar. It represents an abundance of three "poisons": attachment, hatred and ignorance. These negative states of mind lead to disorders of the energy flowing in the body and thus create physical and mental symptoms of the disease.
Symbolically, the Dorje represents the "lightning of enlightenment," a sudden change in human consciousness that is recognized by many religions as central to mysticism and the lives of saints. Through enlightenment, we can be separated from material goods such as money, food, and even life itself. Happiness then comes not from outside, but from within ourselves. In Tibetan Buddhism, the Dorje is an inseparable ritual part of religious ceremonies.
