Galgan root

Dried root of the tropical galangal plant (Alpinia officinarum). Galgan is a perennial herb growing in East India and adjacent islands. It is grown to a greater extent in China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries in the region. In Tibetan Ayurvedic medicine, galangal is used for rheumatism, bronchial diseases and tuberculosis.
