Lace agate

Laguna lace agate (Czech "lace agate") is the most prized lace agate in the world . It is known for its extremely beautiful pattern and vibrant shades of color from gray to green and brown to red and red. Laguna Agate is mined in the only area in the world, covering roughly 6 square kilometers in a remote mountain range in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Laguna lace agate is a striated variety of chalcedony from the quartz mineral family. Although it has a predominant scarlet color, its layers can contain shades of dark red, milky white, yellow, gold, light green and brown. The name agate comes from the name of the river Achetes in Sicily , where agates were first found. Laguna lace agate is usually striated in layers, some varieties have "eyes" or dots of color, some have petrified inclusions. Agate is sometimes called the "Rainbow of the Earth " because concentric bands of agates form in almost every color found on Earth, including the colorless form.

Historically, agate has been discovered as artifacts of Neolithic people and has been used as a healing amulet since time immemorial. Its use for jewelry purposes dates back to the period of ancient Babylon. Its use as a healing stone continued through the ancient Greek and Egyptian civilizations, then spread from Africa and the Middle East through Europe to Russia
