Technical description: silicate, the main component is lazurite - sulfoaluminosilicate of sodium and calcium, it is also made up of pyrite, calcite and sometimes sodalite. It is a relatively rare stone with a matte to vitreous luster, translucent to opaque with indistinct cleavage. It has been used as a jewelry stone in Egypt for millennia.
