Moldavite is a glass of tectonic origin, which was formed by the impact of a huge meteorite on Earth (specifically in the German Reis crater). The heat caused by the impact of this body melted the surrounding rocks and scattered them into a great distance, where today's deposits were formed. It is a rare "stone", the sources of which are being mined and depleted over time. Currently, it is difficult to find worldwide and therefore its price is rising.
