Vltavín (Moldavite) is a glass of tectic origin, which was created by the impact of a huge meteorite on Earth (specifically in the German Reis crater). The heat caused by the impact of this body melted the surrounding rocks and scattered them into the great distance, where today's deposits were created. It is a rare "stone", the resources of which are mined and depleted over time.

Herkimer diamonds are actually quartz crystals and not diamonds. In the US it is known as the diamond of New York because its only mines in Herkimer, New York City. The mine is a tourist attraction where you can search for your own Herkimer quartz crystals (Herkimer diamond).
