Buddha of compassion Chenrezig statuette gray
Beautiful statuette of a compassionate Buddha, Chenrezig, in gray colour. Symbolism: the seated Buddha expresses concentration and stability. Weight is approx. 580 g, dimensions: 16x10x20 cm. The statuette is made of durable polyresin.
Chenrezig, or Avalokitesvara, is a depiction of the Buddha sitting with one hand in front of his chest and performing the Uttarabodhi Mudra. This is the moment when the Buddha - bodhisattva puts his two hands together and pulls his index fingers and the other fingers wrapped around each other. This gesture is to represent the highest enlightenment. The second set of hands, shown in the picture above, shows Jnana Mudra - a teaching mudra with the touches of his fingers that make up the wheel of law. The arms themselves represent four immeasurable things: immeasurable kindness, immeasurable compassion, immeasurable joy, and immeasurable composure . The outer right hand holds crystal beads like those used to count mantras. This is because, like the constant counting of beads, Avalokitesvara is constantly benefiting all sentient beings. He holds a lotus flower in his outer left hand. This bodhisattva has a circle above his head like a "halo," which shows his instability and the greatest, like God. Also in this picture are great images of wealth and nature. This could show the importance of the greatness and devotion of Avalokitesvara to the world. This image would be used mainly to worship and remember the great bodhisattva waiting for its enlightenment until everyone in the world attains nirvana.
