Silver pendant with unique Libyan desert glass. Ag 925. You are buying the directly depicted piece of jewelry.
Libyan desert glass, or Great Sand Sea glass, is a natural impactite (formed from molten quartz), originating mainly from lechatelierite, found in the eastern Sahara regions, in the deserts of eastern Libya and western Egypt. The origin of desert glass is considered to be a meteorite, the impact of which caused, among other things, the disintegration and evaporation of metals, other elements and compounds. The origin dates back to 29 million years ago. It was used to make tools in the Pleistocene period.
