Mantras (man - think, tra - tool, or literally true word). Mantras are words and especially their sound, mantras are used for repeated recitation or for meditation (repetition only in the mind), the goal is to calm the mind. The most famous six-syllable mantra of Tibetan Buddhism is the compassion mantra Om mani padme hum. The mantra is supposed to transform negative emotions. Om - pride and egoism, ma - jealousy and envy, ni - attachment and egoistic desires, pad - ignorance and confusion, me - greed and greed, and hum - hatred and anger.

Symbolism: The Buddha touching the ground represents a moment of enlightenment.

Buddha, translated as awakened, enlightened, is a being in Buddhism who has achieved perfect realization, the so-called enlightenment. Such beings are freed from the so-called three poisons of the mind, i.e. ignorance, anger and greed, and from suffering. The essence of being for them is the characteristic features of being, which means unsatisfactoriness, impermanence and insubstantiality.

"Witness gesture" (bhumisparsha). The gesture is called "touching the ground". The Buddha touching the Earth is the most common figure in Thai temples. This position is known as the "Witness Earth" mudra, also "calling the Earth to witness" and is the definition of a moment of enlightenment for the Buddha. The Buddha sits cross-legged, with his left hand in his lap and his right hand touching the ground. The hand rests on the right knee, palm down, the left hand rests in the lap, palm up. This gesture symbolizes victory

Sound massage using singing bowls is a great natural way to restore harmony to the body. Their calming properties can naturally bring peace to the soul and focus the mind. The vibration and sound produced by singing the bowl creates a type of energy that works with the body in many ways and can produce several positive results, such as a deep sense of calm and reduced mental and emotional stress.

Using a singing bowl for physical relaxation

Singing bowls used in sound massages are usually designed for long-term use and focus more on vibration than the sound produced. Vibrating sound massage allows the body to achieve peace on an internal and external level. Singing bowls of various weights and sizes are usually placed directly on top of the body, but may also be placed around the body.

The human body consists of approximately 60% water. Water has a deep synergy with the vibrational patterns of the singing bowl tones and thus better connects and transports important elements in the body. Water is the body's own substance, therefore the vibrations of the tones of the singing bowls are completely natural and very pleasant to the body. Vibrating sound massages can allow these positive elements to flow freely in the body. In most cases, this type of therapy is reported to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, and other similar conditions.

How to play the bowl?

To play bowls, mallets are used only made of wood or covered with suede.
The suede-wrapped mallet produces a soft, resonant sound when struck against the rim of the bowl.

If you want to literally play the bowl, use a mallet only made of wood, without suede. Hold the bowl gently in the palm of your hand to vibrate the bowl. With a wooden mallet, start swirling around the top edge or outer perimeter of the bowl, maintaining even pressure. Gradually increase the speed of the swirl and you will achieve a strong sound of the vibrating bowl. To make the bowl vibrate, you can tap it with a mallet. Whether you use the bowl for meditation or relaxation, it will have a positive effect on you forever.
