Place a Mani stone in your space, whether at home or at work, to bring positive energy, harmony, peace and protection from negativity to your surroundings.
It is an ancient Tibetan tradition to carve not only Chenrezig mantras into stone, but also to depict Buddha , Tara , Zambala and other deities with them. Tibetans strongly believe that this habit creates positive energy and receives divine protection.
In Nepal, mani stones are mainly placed along roads and rivers, they are often used to create long walls or mounds as offerings to local spirits or genii loci. The wind will then spread their positive energy to all corners of the world.
Mani stones are worked with a technique called sunk relief, where the area around each letter is carved out, leaving the letters at their original surface level, higher than the background.
The stones are sometimes painted in symbolic colors for each syllable ( om white, ma green, ni yellow, pad light blue, me red, hum dark blue).
