Characteristics: positive energy - compassion - chakras: root and solar plexus. Feng Shui element: Earth.

Bornite is copper-red to brown in color, turning into an iridescent purplish surface. It was called purple copper ore or variegated copper ore. It was first described in 1725, in the territory of today's Czech Republic. It was named phillipsite by the French mineralogist and geologist François Sulpice Beudant in 1832 and renamed bornite in 1845 in honor of the Transylvanian/Austrian mineralogist and invertebrate zoologist Ignaz von Born (1742 - 1791).

Bornite is the main copper ore. Bornite contains positive energy that encourages activities. It reminds us that creating something good takes time and that the longest journey begins with the first step. Bornite helps to stay grounded and think clearly, especially when dealing with complex issues. It promotes compassion.

Earth energy is the energy of stability, patience, honesty, balance and resourcefulness. It is our home energy, the energy of the land we live on. It is the energy of mountains, plains, shores and valleys. It is our persistence, our home in the black cold universe. Earth energy is characterized by a light brown color. Use light brown crystals to enhance a space that is a resting place where you want to feel safe and protected.
