Bustamite is a variety of rhodonite, but with a higher content of calcium and manganese. It is named in honor of Miquela Bustemante y Septién, a Mexican naturalist and mineralogist (170 - 1844). The original bustamite from Real de mInal, Fetela, Mexico was a mixture of rhodonite and johannsenite. It comes in several shades of pink.
