Strontianite was discovered in 1790 near the Scottish village of Strontian. The mineral was described by the German physician and naturalist Fridrich Gabriel Sulzer and named after the locality where it was found. Mineral hardness according to the Mohs scale: 3.5.

Strontyanite is associated with strength and self-confidence, it is suitable for shy individuals and introverts. It is used to enhance creativity and imagination. It is one of the ideal stones for meditation.

Strontyanite cleanses and harmonizes the Crown Chakra, the Solar Plexus Chakra, associated with self-confidence, personal power and assertiveness, and the Third Eye Chakra, which is associated with intuition, imagination and wisdom.

When combined with other gems and semi-precious stones, it helps increase the energy of each one. A suitable combination is with crystal, citrine and amethyst.

Cleaning and charging is best done by moonlight, preferably during a full moon.
