Tanzanite
One of the least popular, most beautiful and rarest stones today - Tanzanite was first discovered in 1967 in the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, East Africa. It is very rare and one of the most recently discovered colored gemstones and was added to the American Trade Association's official list in October 2002 as another December birthstone . Within a few decades, it has gained great popularity all over the world. Tanazanite is becoming an increasingly rare stone, because its main deposit is already almost mined, and new ones have not been found.
What makes tanzanite rare and unique is its beautiful pure blue color , often turning into a deep purple hue.
Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite , rarely showing a pure blue color, it is usually violet-blue. But it is also often found as a brown stone, which is subsequently modified by heating to the resulting beautiful blue color. Although it is possible to wear it as a piece of jewelry on a daily basis, this mineral is very fragile, so it is necessary to protect it from impacts and extreme temperature changes. Tanzanite is one of the most valued gemstones in jewelry. It was first promoted by the Tiffany company in New York.
Legend has it that tanzanite was first noticed by the Maasai , cattle herders after a fire caused by lightning burned an area in Tanzania. Due to the high temperature, the brown zoisites turned dark blue to purple.
Metaphysical Properties of Tanzanite
Like other blue gemstones , tanzanite has a calming effect on both our body and mind . For people who live their lives under severe stress or for whom things "grow over their heads" and are unable to manage them all, tanzanite helps to find peace and inner balance , and subsequently helps to mobilize our inner strength and determination to overcome everything bad.
Tanzanite is also associated with communication and allows its wearer to become more aware of their surroundings, their life and their own spiritual self. Thanks to its gentle energy and beautiful shades of blue, tanzanite brings generosity into our lives and greatly helps to improve relationships. Tanzanite also helps to suppress the negativity that is around us both at the workplace and in our apartment or house.
On a physical level , tanzanite is often reported to help our bodies better absorb nutrients and eliminate toxins that can cause skin problems. Tanzanite is believed to support and assist in the treatment of lowering blood pressure.
Tanzanite opens the crown chakra to mediate the visualization of higher spiritual realms, making it a great stone for focus and meditation. Tanzanite facilitates the integration between the Throat Chakra and the Third Eye Chakra to gain psychic power and better express our life visions.
