The Japanese tea ceremony is a moment of peace and relaxation during the busy daily life. The Japanese and Chinese have been using cast iron teapots and mugs for their finest teas for centuries.

These kettles have a long tradition in both Japan and China and are very popular. This is a hand-crafted process that usually takes 2 months from design to final product. Each kettle is an original.

Instructions for use: always put about 80% of the contents into the kettle to prevent overflow during cooking. When using for the first time, put green tea in the kettle, fill it 2/3 with water and boil for about 20 minutes, then remove it from the heat source, let it stand for about 6 minutes and then drain the water, fill the kettle with water again and repeat the whole process about 6 - 8 times, until the water is clear and the kettle is ready for use. The tannins contained in tea react with iron ions and a dark blue to black-purple coloration occurs. The coating that remains in the teapot prevents the teapot from rusting, and does not have a negative effect on the quality and taste of the tea.

After using the kettle, pour out any remaining contents, let the kettle dry and cool, and cover with a dry lid. Do not let the water stand in the kettle until the next use to prevent rusting.

Notice

Do not touch the inside of the kettle with your hands, do not clean the inside with a cloth or brush, do not use a cleaning agent.
Do not wash the hot kettle with tap water.
Do not place the kettle on a heat source without water.
Fill the kettle with water to about 2/3 of its content so that the water does not overflow when boiling.
Keep in mind that the kettle is heavy on its own, filling it with water almost doubles its weight.
If you are not going to use the kettle for a while, coat the inside with the table oil you use for cooking and store it in a cool, dry place. Before use, fill the kettle with water, bring it to a boil, pour it out and the kettle is ready for use again.
The kettle is not intended for use in a microwave oven.
