Traditional wedding anniversary gifts

Giving gifts on wedding anniversaries dates back to the Middle Ages. It was not until 1922 that the first list of gift proposals for a few anniversaries was published . The list was gradually expanded and in 1957 it was published as we state it. It contains not only precious stones and semi-precious stones , but also metals and watches.

The list is not the only one recognized, however it has been approved by American jewelers of the American Society of Gemology and the American Gemological Institute (GIA), which is the most recognized gemological laboratory in the world. It was founded in 1920 to increase public confidence in diamonds and the gems or jewelry that contain them. It sets standards for the evaluation of diamonds and provides training in gemology (a science dealing with precious stones).
An alternative list was created based on sources from various books and the Internet.
