We finally have the popular Lotus candlesticks made of capiz shells back in stock!
Finally, after several months, the delivery of most of the Lotos candlesticks made of natural capiz shells has arrived, you can find the entire range of candlesticks HERE .
Candlesticks are made from oyster shells (placuna placenta), also known as capiz shells after the place where the oysters are collected, i.e. around Panay City, Capiz Province, Philippines. After cleaning, the shells are naturally translucent, and when dyed they allow a wonderful interplay of colors and light.
The lotus flower is an image of the beginning of the world, the origin of life. It is an ancient symbol of rebirth, beauty, life, happiness, purity and spirituality, the unity of the micro and macrocosm, a symbol of the harmony of male and female beginnings. The lotus was, and still is, a particularly revered symbol in many cultures, especially in ancient Egypt, and in modern times in India and China.
